Brazil Trip II - Bahia and Sao Paulo

Friday, December 30, 2016

After one week in Rio I took my next flight to Salvador, Bahia. It is a beautiful and historical city, a city, where you can feel the energy. Pelourinho, the historic center of the city was incredible with all those colorful houses. At the Church of Nosso Senhor do Bonfim you can tie a ribbon and make a wish.

At every corner you can find "Agua di Coco" and I have to admit I got addicted to coconut water over there. The taste is so fresh and sweet, especially in Salvador. Another thing, that I used to drink almost everyday was "suco de maracujà" (passion fruit juice). You have to try it!!

This views you'll get from Farol da Barra. It is a lovely place during the day and the evening. This photo was taken from the top of the lighthouse. The sunset is stunning from there!

We did a six hours road trip to Chapada Diamantina, Lencois. The national park was very beautiful. We went to see several waterfalls, went snorkeling in caves and did some hikes.

After 2.5 weeks in Bahia I went to Sao Paulo, which was my last stop. Sao Paulo is very different compared to Rio and Salvador. It is a very modern business city.

Avenida Paulista
Catedral da Sé

Becco do Batman is full of amazing street art. I loved this place, it was very inspiriational.
I would go back to Brazil immediately if I could. It really is an amazing country, that has a lot to offer and the people over there are very friendly and kind. Yes, it is not safe everywhere, but if you take care of your stuff and avoid going to "strange" streets you will be fine. It is just too beautiful not to go over there because of this reason.
